Australian Labradoodle colors & patterns

Chocolate, caramel, parti, phantom, tuxedo, sable — a field guide to the coats of the Australian Labradoodle, illustrated entirely by dogs from our own program at Lake Tillery.

Chocolate Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Chocolate

Deep brown coat, often with amber eyes

Rich, deep brown from nose to tail — one of the most requested Australian Labradoodle colors, and a Tillery specialty across our dams and sires.

Caramel Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Caramel

Warm gold-brown, rose or liver nose

A warm golden-brown with apricot undertones — this coat absolutely glows in the sunlight. Several Tillery girls carry caramel.

Cream Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Cream

Ivory to pale gold, light and airy

Soft ivory to pale gold, like Otto and Mabel from our current litter. Creams often carry beautiful apricot ears.

Red Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Red

Rich mahogany-red, keeps depth with age

The deepest of the warm coats — think Irish Setter warmth on a teddy-bear frame. Reds keep their depth beautifully with age.

Apricot Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Apricot

Peach-gold, the classic doodle look

Between cream and red sits apricot — the classic teddy-bear look. Our girl Andi is a gorgeous apricot fleece.

Black Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Black

Solid jet black, often silky fleece

Glossy jet black, like little Alma from the current litter — striking, elegant, and less common than the browns.

Parti Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Parti

White base with bold color patches

At least 50% white with patches of a second color. Bold and one-of-a-kind — no two parti coats are ever alike. Several Tillery dogs carry parti.

Tuxedo Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Tuxedo

Dark coat with formal white chest & paws

A dark coat with white on the chest, chin and paws — dressed for a black-tie event. Our Opal, mom of the current litter, is a black-and-white tuxedo.

Phantom Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Phantom

Solid base + defined tan points

A solid base with precise tan markings above the eyes, on the muzzle, chest and legs — like a Doberman's pattern in doodle form. Our Heidi Brooke is a chocolate phantom parti.

Sable Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Sable

Dark-tipped hairs over a lighter base

Each hair is dark at the tip and lighter at the root, giving a rich, shifting depth that often lightens beautifully as the puppy grows.

Chocolate Parti Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Chocolate Parti

White + chocolate patches

White base with rich chocolate patches — our sire Toby, dad of the current litter, is a chocolate parti.

Black Roan Australian Labradoodle at Tillery Labradoodles

Black Roan

Black interwoven with white ticking

White hairs woven evenly through a black coat for a silvered, frosted effect — one of the rarest and most striking patterns we breed.

A note on coats

Australian Labradoodle coats are fleece or wool — low-shedding and allergy-friendly. Colors can soften slightly as a puppy matures, which is part of the magic. If you have your heart set on a color or pattern, tell Billie: your $500 reservation rolls to a future litter if your preference isn't in the current one.
