At exactly seven weeks — day 49 — every Tillery puppy is evaluated with the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test, scoring ten areas from confidence and trainability to how they recover from a startle. Seven weeks is the window when a puppy's natural temperament shows clearly, before life experience shapes it. There are no good or bad scores — a bold, driven puppy and a gentle, sensitive one simply belong in different homes. Billie shares every puppy's results with you during puppy selection to help you make your final decision, and a printed copy goes home in your puppy's folder.
Yes — families visit their puppy at 5–6 weeks old, and that's when the second $500 payment is due. It's a favorite milestone: you finally get to fall in love in person.
Yes. Delivery and flight nannies are available at additional cost — just ask Billie when you talk. If you need your puppy to stay a few extra days past pick-up date, boarding is $25/day.

Yes — every Tillery puppy is placed as a family pet, and spay or neuter by 10 months of age is required, not optional. It is written into the contract that comes home with your puppy. Ten months is deliberate: altering too early takes away the growth hormones your puppy needs while their joints and bones are still developing, so we wait until they have finished growing. We use a service called SpaySecure to handle it: the agreement is emailed to you to sign electronically a day or two before your puppy comes home, Billie covers the fee, and SpaySecure sends you reminders as the date approaches. You simply upload your vet's record once it is done.
Guardian families raise one of our breeding-prospect dogs as their own beloved pet — a pick-of-the-litter breeding prospect placed with your family. They live with you always, come to Tillery briefly, and when their breeding role is complete they're spayed or neutered, retired, and simply keeps being your dog.
